Get comfortable with the workflow

This is a new technique, so expect a learning curve. Stay consistent and you’ll quickly see faster, cleaner, and more predictable results.

Stone amount per arch

A single-arch Modelaider with the Horseshoe cap (as shown in the video) typically requires about 100 grams of dental stone.

Measure

Follow the manufacturer’s powder-to-water ratio. As you gain experience, you can pour multiple Modelaiders from one mix.

Pour

Fill from one side and allow the mix to flow. Tip: Press the tray firmly on the vibrating machine to improve flow and minimize bubbles.

Set

Place the impression in the stand so the stone sets evenly. Separate at the time shown in the Dental Stone Comparison Table.

Finish

Remove any flash with a clipper and inspect margins before trimming.

  • Weigh powder and water for consistent results; keep water temperature stable.

  • Clean trays and tools immediately after use to prevent residue build-up.
  • Store stone sealed and dry; label opened containers with the date.
